When granting through your donor-advised fund, please use the following information:

Legal Name: Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities
Address: 938 Lafayette St Ste 300, New Orleans, LA 70113
Federal Tax ID Number: 72-0795568

When you donate appreciated securities or mutual funds you have held more than one year to us in support of our mission, you can reduce or even eliminate federal capital gains taxes on the transfer. You may also be entitled to a federal income tax charitable deduction based on the fair market value of the securities at the time of the transfer.

Please contact Jenni Daniel, VP of Institutional Advancement, at (504) 356-0517 for detailed instructions on completing your transfer.

If you are age 70 ½ or older, you can give any amount (up to a maximum of $100,000) per year from your IRA directly to a qualified charity like LEH without having to pay income taxes on the money. Gifts of any value $100,000 or less are eligible for this benefit and you can feel good knowing that you are supporting powerful arts experiences that engage and unite diverse communities and cultures. This popular gift option is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover, but you may also see it referred to as a qualified charitable distribution, or QCD for short.

Please talk with your tax adviser or other financial professionals to determine whether an IRA charitable rollover could benefit you.

One of the most powerful ways you can champion the humanities in Louisiana is to include LEH as a beneficiary of your will. Your bequest can support our mission broadly or your favorite department or program. Please contact us at (504) 356-0517 for sample language.

If you decide to leave us in your will, please reference our legal name, Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities, and our tax ID: 72-0795568. Contact Jenni Daniel, VP of Institutional Advancement, at (504) 356-0517. We want to thank you for your gift!

Not everyone wants to commit to making a gift in their wills or estates. Some prefer the increased flexibility that a beneficiary designation provides by using:

  • IRAs and retirement plans
  • Life insurance policies
  • Commercial annuities

It only takes three simple steps to make this type of gift. Here’s how to name LEH as a beneficiary:

  • Contact your retirement plan administrator, insurance company, bank or financial institution for a change-of-beneficiary form.
  • Decide what percentage (1 to 100) you would like us to receive and name us, along with the percentage you chose, on the beneficiary form.
  • Return the completed form to your plan administrator, insurance company, bank or financial institution.

If you have named LEH as a beneficiary, we want to thank you for your gift! Please contact Jenni Daniel, VP of Institutional Advancement, at (504) 356-0517
