Visit New Exhibition Space for LSU Museum’s Permanent Collection
The LSU Museum of Art in Baton Rouge has unveiled the reinstallation of its permanent collection on March 4. Now the museum has more than 8,000 square feet to present the finest examples of its collection of Louisiana fine and decorative arts, dating from the 1700s to the present. Seven galleries and a new education space showcase many works that had not been on display in over a decade.
Supported in part by a grant from the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities, the reinstallation will allow the museum’s education department to build robust curricula, tours, and community programs around the art of Louisiana and the American South. As the only dedicated art museum in the City of Baton Rouge, the LSU Museum of Art serves more than 20,000 adults and children who visit its galleries annually. Visit www.lsmoa.org for more info.
