PRIME TIME Reaches 5,000 Readers This Spring
In spring 2017, PRIME TIME Family Reading Time and Preschool programs reached 1,054 families, or approximately 5,000 individuals, with humanities-based, critical thinking reading and discussions. Additionally, each family received a set of children’s books with which to begin their own home libraries. Beyond Louisiana, the PRIME TIME staff supervised another 60 programs across 10 states.
The success of PRIME TIME Family Reading Time’s programs means that more children will have a new chance at academic achievement, are more likely to find jobs that will sustain themselves and their families, and their literacy skills will benefit their communities as they grow into members of a more educated citizenry.
