May 11: New Orleans Public Library Hosts “Generations of Struggle”
“Generations of Struggle” is a four-week reading and discussion program made possible by a 2016 “Race and Ethnicity” Grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to the LEH. Host sites in ten parishes will convene scholar-led discussions of three acclaimed works about African American history: Slavery By Another Name, a PBS-produced documentary; A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest J. Gaines, and Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates.
The first program takes place at the New Orleans Public Library Main Branch, 219 Loyola Avenue, on Thursdays, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., May 11 through June 1. Click here for more info.
