LEH Staff Attend National Humanities Conference in St. Louis
LEH staff attended the annual National Humanities Conference in St. Louis, during the first weekend of November. Highlights of the conference included a breakfast featuring the National Endowment for the Humanities chairman Dr. William Adams, internationally known story performer Bobby Norfolk, and Capps Lecture speaker Dave Eggars, author, publisher and education innovator.
LEH VP of Content Brian Boyles and Louisiana Cultural Vistas Editor David Johnson participated in “Publishing, Reimagining and Sustaining Council Magazines,” a session proposed by the LEH. Panelists from Oregon Humanities, Oklahoma Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities discussed humanities-based publications, including Louisiana Cultural Vistas.
LEH Executive Director Miranda Restovic presided over the poster session presentation for PRIME TIME Family Reading Time.
Founded in 1977, the Federation of State Humanities Councils is the national member association of the 56 state and jurisdictional humanities councils. The Federation provides leadership, advocacy, and information to help members advance programs that engage millions of citizens across diverse populations in community and civic life.
