Thanks to support, LEH awards more emergency relief grants
The Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities has awarded emergency relief grants from the Louisiana Culture Care Fund to another 17 organizations in 8 parishes. See the full list below.
The Louisiana Culture Care Fund is a new grant program providing emergency relief funding to humanities organizations impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Funding for the grants listed below was generously provided by The Helis Foundation, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, and the Josef Sternberg Memorial Foundation.
Initial funding was provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the federal CARES Act.
Applications are open now through June 30, or until funds are expended. Grants are reviewed and awarded on a rolling basis. To date, the LEH has awarded more than $450,000 in grants to 50 humanities organizations in 19 parishes.
The grants are available to 501(c)(3) non-profit cultural organizations in Louisiana with a strong humanities focus, such as museums, historic sites and archives, as well as the state’s diverse array of humanities-focused media, festivals and more.
