In response to recent funding cuts, the Federation of State Humanities Councils, with support from the Mellon Foundation, has issued a match of up to $50,000 for the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities. To amplify the impact of this gift, the LEH Board of Directors will match an additional $35,000 in donations made through December 31.
With support from the State of Louisiana, the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities (LEH) has awarded $200,000 in grants to 24 humanities organizations in 17 parishes to help with operational expenses.

On April 2, the LEH, along with all other state and jurisdictional humanities councils, was notified that its general operating grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities was being cancelled, effective immediately.
This means that LEH will not receive $600,000 in funding this fiscal year to support the cultural and educational initiatives that deeply matter to you and so many across our state.
