The Third Annual Downriver Festival

The third annual Downriver Festival takes place on Saturday, September 12, at the Old U.S. Mint and the French Market in New Orleans, featuring lectures, live music, and culinary demonstrations.

Among the speakers are past LCV contributors Sally Asher, John Magill, and Peggy Scott Laborde.

On April 2, the LEH, along with all other state and jurisdictional humanities councils, was notified that its general operating grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities was being cancelled, effective immediately.

This means that LEH will not receive $600,000 in funding this fiscal year to support the cultural and educational initiatives that deeply matter to you and so many across our state.
