“Purchased Lives” Tour Makes Final Stop in Lake Charles
“Purchased Lives: The American Slave Trade from 1808 to 1865,” a traveling panel exhibition exploring the history of the domestic slave trade, is on display at Calcasieu Parish Library in Lake Charles through Jan. 16 through Feb. 27.

The library is the final stop for the exhibit, which reached 10 Louisiana communities over the last 14 months. Presented by Entergy Corporation with additional support from the National Park Service and the Kabacoff Family Foundation, “Purchased Lives” is a traveling exhibition by The Historic New Orleans Collection in collaboration with the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities.
