LEH’s Light Up for Literacy Campaign Continues

In September 2014, the LEH launched the Light Up for Literacy Campaign to celebrate literacy efforts across Louisiana. The campaign began with the debut of jewelry designer Ashley Porter’s Light Up for Literacy Earrings.  Half of all proceeds from earring sales support the implementation of LEH literacy programs in Louisiana.  To date, Light Up for Literacy earring sales have yielded nearly $1500.  These funds have supported the purchase of more than 400 books for Louisiana families who participate in PRIME TIME Preschool.

The campaign culminates in April at the 2015 Bright Light Awards Dinner with the first ever Light Up for Literacy Award, given in partnership with the Louisiana Center for the Book in the State Library of Louisiana, and the Library of Congress.
