Remembering Jim Montgomery, LEH board member and Pulitzer nominee

Former LEH board member Jim Montgomery of Shreveport was an accomplished journalist and editor, nominated three times for a Pulitzer Prize during his time at The Shreveport Times. Following his time at the paper, Montgomery spent eight years as Executive Director of the Carolyn W. and Charles T. Beaird Family Foundation. Montgomery passed away in 2013.

In July 2017, the LEH was reminded of his enduring generosity with the arrival of a $25,000 gift from the Jim Montgomery Memorial Grant at the Beaird Foundation. The LEH thanks the Montgomery family for continuing a great tradition of public service and support for the humanities.
