August 27: LEH and Joy Theater Host Katrina 10th Anniversary Screening of “Big Charity”
In April the LEH named Big Charity: The Death of America’s Oldest Hospital its 2015 Documentary Film of the Year. As New Orleans commemorates the 10th anniversary of the federal levee failures, the LEH invites you to the Joy Theater on Thursday, August 27 for 2 special screenings of the film. Tickets are available here.
Note: tickets for the 1st screening include admission for a 5:45pm panel discussion and the first screening at 6:30pm. A second screening begins at 8:30pm. The panel discussion will focus on the state of public health in New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina. Panelists include Dr. Joia Crear-Perry, Dr. James Moises, and scholar Fernin Eaton.
