American Historical Association Offers Discount to LEH Members for Annual Meeting, Held January 6–9
For the first time since 2013, the American Historical Association is holding its annual meeting in New Orleans. The world’s largest annual gathering of professional historians will be held from Thursday, January 6 to Sunday, January 9, 2022.
The AHA is pleased to offer Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities members a 25% registration discount. Members can use the code AMLOCAL at checkout.
Highlights of the meeting include a plenary on the ongoing New Orleans street renaming process, another featuring the host of the public radio program American Routes, a late-breaking plenary on “Divisive Concepts, Honest History,” and an address by AHA president Jacqueline Jones on “Historians and Their Publics, Then and Now.” There’s also a series of six panels on “Modes of Historical Story-Telling,” including one focused on storytelling in and around New Orleans. The 2022 annual meeting program contains information on the nearly 300 sessions, ten AHA-sponsored receptions (complimentary for registrants), and more.
