“Purchased Lives” in Thibodaux and New Roads
“Purchased Lives: The American Slave Trade from 1808 to 1865,” a traveling panel exhibition exploring the history of the domestic slave trade, is on display at Ellender Memorial Library at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux through Oct. 13.
The exhibition opens at the Point Coupee Library in New Roads on October 17.
Presented by Entergy Corporation with additional support from the National Park Service and the Kabacoff Family Foundation, the exhibition runs through October 13.
“Purchased Lives” is a traveling exhibition by The Historic New Orleans Collection in collaboration with the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities.
