June 10: Underground Railroad in NW Louisiana at Bossier Parish Library

“Purchased Lives: The American Slave Trade from 1808 to 1865,” a traveling panel exhibition exploring the history of the domestic slave trade, stops at the Bossier Parish Library in Bossier City this month. Presented by Entergy Corporation with additional support from the National Park Service and the Kabacoff Family Foundation, the exhibition will remain at the library until July 13.

The library hosts free programs during the six-week tour stop. On Saturday, June 10, anthropologist Rolonda Teal and Harriet Tubman re-enactor Thelma Harrison of the Company Repertory Theatre present on the Underground Railroad in northwest Louisiana. Upcoming events include author talks and dramatic readings. All events are held at the Bossier Parish Library Historical Center, 2206 Beckett Street.
