LEH Welcomes Josh-Wade Ferguson as Director of Public Programs

We are excited to welcome our newest Director of Public Programs, Josh-Wade Ferguson, to the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities team! In this role Ferguson will also serve as editor-in-chief for 64 Parishes magazine and its affiliates.

He brings a wealth of experience to the LEH as an educator, editor, administrator, and writer. Ferguson has built a successful events and programming portfolio that spans over 100 annual events and has cultivated relationships with the nation’s leading publishers, working with writers at local and national levels.

“The humanities are a public good and should be widely accessible,” Ferguson said. “I am excited to lead the LEH’s public programs and continue its important work of developing and providing humanities-based programming that serves Louisiana’s communities and people.”

Ferguson received his doctorate in blues music and US Southern literature and culture from the University of Mississippi. His writing has focused on such topics as film in New Orleans, swamp pop, and the use of blues music in indigenous fiction.
