Lt. Gov. Nungesser Hosts “Hometown Teams” Opening in Natchitoches

On June 25, Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser joined supporters of the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and Northwest Louisiana History Museum to kick off the Museum on Main Street exhibition “Hometown Teams: How Sports Shape America” in Natchitoches. The event coincided with the 2016 Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame induction weekend, and featured the museum director Jennae Biddiscombe, Natchitoches Mayor Lee Posey, and Arlene Gould of the Natchitoches Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The 2016 Museum on Main Street is a partnership between the Smithsonian Institution, the LEH, and six Louisiana communities. The tour continues with stops in Ruston, Long Leaf, and Abita Springs. “Hometown Teams” celebrates the sports culture of small towns across America.
